Built in the 1930’s, the Colonial Park Apartments were marginally occupied and in need of rehabilitation. In the summer of 2003, Brandt Construction, Inc. was selected as the Construction Manager by the Partners In Housing Development Corporation. As part of Indianapolis’s Blueprint to End Homelessness plan, the renovation included three separate buildings that house 106 one and two bedroom units which will be occupied by individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Construction was completed in two phases, completing one building so that the current tenants’ immediate needs were met, followed by the completion of the second and third buildings. Construction was completed in the summer of 2005.
