Project Name: Carmel/Clay Water
Park Enhancement Project
Project Scope: Brandt Construction, Inc. is
excited to be the Carmel-Clay Board of Parks and Recreation Water
Park. Ground was broken in mid November on the feature, which
is commonly known as a “FlowRider.” A FlowRider consists
of a series of large pumps, framing, and a rideable surface on
which the rider can experience simulated surfing conditions as
massive amounts of water are pushed over the wave shaped surface
which a knee/surf board glides over. This ride and construction
project requires some more behind the scene components in order
to house and service the ride such as; a large concrete tank with
double sloped walls, a pump/bathroom house with brick façade
to match adjacent buildings, numerous pumps, filters, and heaters
within the building, and lastly a site concrete and retaining
wall package that will tie the ride into the surrounding areas
within the park. A large amount of subgrade concrete, open excavations
and general construction during the winter months will be sure
to provide the construction team with many challenges.
