In the summer of 2004, Brandt Construction, Inc. was selected as the General Contractor for the Gas City School Apartments project, an affordable housing project for senior citizens. The 22,000SF renovation of the East Ward School includes 19 one and two bedroom apartments, exercise room, and other support services. Eleven of the apartments are designated for low-income seniors. Two of the apartments are handicapped accessible with walk-in showers. In the future the owner would like to add a gym area for community use. Construction began in August of 2004 and was completed in the Spring of 2005.
