In February of 1998, Brandt Construction, Inc. was hired as general contractor to construct a new 22,000 square foot clubhouse for Long Beach Country Club. The building is comprised of men’s and women’s locker rooms, men’s and women’s card rooms, offices for staff, formal dining room, a kitchen, and a bar and lounge overlooking the golf course. The structure consisted of concrete and masonry walls, wood framing, exterior stone and siding with shingle roof. The finishes included 16 foot high ceilings, chair rail and crown moldings, fireplaces, a highly detailed staircase, and an interior skylight.

Features:

• This project had to be completed during the club’s off season.

• Work was done in spite of the ever shifting dune sand.

• At times the construction crew had to work in 1 to 2 feet of snow to complete the project within 9 months.

• Integrated retaining walls and an efficient building shape reduced the site development costs.

• The renovated pool area and entertaining decks were kept in tact.
