In February of 1998, Brandt Construction, Inc. was hired as a general contractor to help assist in the design phase and the construction of a 22,400 square foot addition to the existing church. The addition is comprised of a new gathering area, a basement, a sanctuary, a stage, a choir room, classrooms, offices, and a parlor, as well as site development. The structure consisted of concrete foundation walls, structural steel and wood framing, exterior brick, and a shingle roof. This project started in November, 1998 and was completed in November, 1999. Challenges included drainage permit delays and winter foundation installation. Old field tiles drained water into the new basement excavation. These difficulties were overcome by the persistence of the Brandt team. Spring finally arrived and construction proceeded normally.
