The
Community Hospital of Williamsport project was a state of the
art 14,572 square foot Outpatient Services facility. The building
included a 6,300 square foot basement for storage and future expansion,
and an 8,400 square foot Outpatient Services facility on the main
level. The walk-out basement was constructed with concrete walls
on three sides and a masonry wall on the open end. The building
was built of structural steel with concrete decks and a membrane
roof system. The exterior was made of stack bond block veneer,
alternating between plain and split face block. A translucent
skylight was installed in the Patient Waiting Room to introduce
natural light to this space. A new Emergency Entrance and a new
Main Entrance to the hospital were incorporated into the addition.
Features:
Two
story addition to accommodate outpatient expansion renovation
of existing main entrance and waiting area.
- Construction was completed through 53.5 inches of rain, which
caused the equipment to be mired in the mud at times. In spite
of the weather conditions, the project was completed only 8
days past the original completion date.
- The addition was constructed directly adjacent to an existing
hospital, which remained in operation.
