Project Name:  St. Barnabas New Gathering Space and Sanctuary Renovation

Project Scope: Brandt Construction Inc. has returned to the St. Barnabas Catholic Church to help the Parish with the addition of a New Gathering Space onto their existing Sanctuary. The existing Sanctuary will also see major renovations. Brandt Construction Inc. and St. Barnabas Catholic Church are ready for another successful project after the renovation and addition of a handicap lift that took place in the summer of 2009. The New Gathering Addition is approximately 2,000 square feet and is a timber framed structure that will consist of a cast stone and aluminum storefront façade, shingle roof, tile floors, and below ground forced air HVAC. Construction challenges will be stone/storefront intersection details, timber framing, and below ground duct installation coordinating with exhaust grilles set in to casework around the perimeter of the Addition. The remodeling of the existing Sanctuary also contains several challenges including removal of a large existing steel catwalk, relocation of an existing beam to raise the ceiling plane and allow more light to cast throughout the Sanctuary, and the addition of a very intricate baptismal that includes granite, pavers, limestone, and marble. Project duration is from April 2010 to Late September 2010. Brandt Construction Inc. anticipates this project to be as successful as the last, and looks forward to providing the Church with new and improved facilities.

Project Status: Storefronts were set last week and glass to be installed this week. Continue brick and stone, set interior door frames and begin drywall hang and finish around the font area. Sprinkler system rough-in should begin this week.
