Construction
of the Decatur County Memorial Hospital facility was a state-of-the-art,
41,448 square foot addition and a 3,394 square foot renovation.
The building addition included a lower level for Physical Therapy,
a first floor with a new Main Entry and Lobby, Radiology Suite
and Emergency Room, second floor with a new Surgery Suite, and
a Penthouse for HVAC equipment. The renovation included a new
laboratory and auxiliary spaces. The building was constructed
of structural steel with concrete decks and a membrane roof system.
The exterior was a running bond brick veneer with reflective vision
glass in front of the lobby, patient registration and surgery
waiting areas. A new entrance canopy with a translucent skylight
was incorporated into the addition.
