In
November of 1997, Brandt Construction, Inc. began the renovation
and restoration of what used to be The Service Club. The building,
built in 1931, was used as a place for the military persons to
come to for coordinated recreational activities. Brandt Construction,
Inc. did refinishing throughout the entire building. The existing
hardwood gym floor was preserved and refinished. All ADA accessibility
was updated throughout the facility as well as the plumbing, electrical
and HVAC. The bathrooms and the kitchen were remodeled to fit
the needs of the new Senior Citizens Center. In coordination with
the Parks Department, Brandt Construction, Inc. did an exterior
makeover, which included the parking lot and the sidewalks.
Features:
The
existing kitchen was completely remodeled.
- The existing gym floor was preserved and refinished to make
an activity room.
- All exterior features were kept the same to maintain the
historic architecture throughout the Historic Fort Benjamin
Harrison.
- The job was a coordinated effort with the Parks Department.
- Brandt Construction, Inc. worked to stay within the owner’s
budget.
- All mechanical, electrical and plumbing were replaced or
updated.
- A new sound system was installed throughout.
